Nick Canepa Derek Jeter (born November 18, 1963) is an American professional baseball player and manager. He played in Major League Baseball for the New York Yankees from 1988 to 2001, and managed the Arizona Diamondbacks from 2010 to 2013.

Nick Canepa was born in Detroit, Michigan in 1963. His father, Antonio, was a native of Sicily who immigrated to the United States in the early 1950s; his mother, Irene, was also from Sicily. Nick attended Grosse Pointe South High School and then played college baseball at Miami (Ohio) University under head coach John McNamara.

Canepa was drafted by the Yankees in the first round of the 1988 draft. He made his Major League debut on September 6, 1988 and appeared in 3 games that season.
